The first 3D ship model approved by a classification society
‘This is a real game changer’, says Katarzyna Romantowska-Jaskólska, CEO of Damen Engineering Gdansk, a design office founded in 2013 as a design center for prototype units and optimizing their functioning. Although 3D models are often created in the early stages of the ship design process, they are then converted to a 2D model for approval of the classification society. In this case it is different – it was the 3D model that was approved by the Veritas Office.
